Wenbo is a girl from Hangzhou, China. I knew her in Singapore last summer holiday. She studied in Singapore and she was the top student in her class. She came first in the final. He hair is short and eyes are bright. She likes reading so she has poor eyesight. She wears a pair of glasses with black edges, like a boy. I admire her because of her character, very frank and outspoken.

Her classmates were often offered by her. But she doesn’t care what her classmates think of her. As I knew her better and better, I found that Wenbo had a good sense of humor and she is fond of Jay Zhou as well. Her desk was covered with Jay’s pictures. She likes singing any time she likes. Her parents work in the government of Hangzhou. She went abroad alone. Now, Wenbo studies in Canada. When I e-mailed her to ask if she felt lonely and strange, she said certainly no and she would adapt herself to a new environment; besides, there are lots of Chinese students in her new school. Recently, I saw a big fire in a ten-story apartment house where firemen worked under great danger. Luckily in this case no one was hurt. Each of us have within us the essence of bravery available on our everyday job, or just going to school, or at home.

Soldiers are called to show bravery in defending their country from aggression. Sometimes during a national disaster such as an earthquake or typhoon soldiers are called to help show bravery and strength.

In about sixty days, we will have the high school entrance examination. It’s very important to us. We’re busy with our lessons every day. To tell you the truth, I sometimes feel I can hardly breathe because of the busy school work.

Whenever I can’t work out the problems for a long time, I will get angry with myself. Whenever I don’t do well in the exams, I can’t help crying. But I will never give up. I know it’s my duty to work hard. I believe everything will be all right if I can live through all this. Our teacher often tells us that the sunlight always comes after the rain and wind. I think she is right.

Though our school life is busy, it is very colourful and I will face the exam with a smile. I will be a brave petrel to meet the exam and take my dream to fly higher and higher.
